Recommended Clothing and Equipment

Essential:

1.  Sleeping pad - either a closed cell foam pad or inflatable  - Ridgerest or Thermarest are excellent choices.
2.  Quality synthetic sleeping bag - rated to 0 degrees or lower.
3.  Socks for at least every day of the hunt - dry feet are very important for these hunts.
4.  Quality waterproof hiking or hunting boots - Meindls made by Cabelas , Rockys.
5.  Fleece or light wool clothing - I usually wear one pair and keep another full set in camp in case I get wet.
6.  Long Underwear - Polypropolene is good stuff.  Also  Thermax.  I usually have at least two full sets (tops and bottoms)
7.  Quality rain gear - You can count on experiencing rain or mixed rain and snow during the hunt so excellent rain gear is one of the most important pieces of gear you can own.  I have MT050 from Cabelas.  Saddlecloth is good, any kind of Gore Tex, or Dry Plus that is soft on the outside (to soften sound) would work.
8.  Fleece or wool hat and gloves.
9.  Backpack with an external or internal frame is nice, but not necessary for the moose hunts, but mandatory for the sheep hunts.  Also a fleece or soft daypack is a good idea.  Cabelas and Camptrails have excellent backpacks.
10.  Rifle with a caliber of .270 to a .300 is good for both moose and sheep.  7mm is a great all around gun.  If you plan to shoot a bear, then I would lean toward the 7mm or .300.  Most importantly, is to be comfortable and accurate out to 400 yards.
11.  One box of shells for a single species hunt, and two boxes for a multiple species hunt.
12.  Headlamp or small flashlight.
13.  Camera and film.
14.  Any toiletries/medicines you may need.

Optional:

1.  Good skinning knife.
2.  Binoculars (highly recommended).
3.  Spotting scope.
4.  Range finder.
5.  First Aid kit.
6.  Water bottle.
7.  Any particular food items that you can't live without.  (Home made jerky, etc.)
8.  Any hunting items that you are used to hunting with and feel that you need.

Feel free to bring any additional hunting items that you feel are a need.  Keep in mind, that space is limited as we fly to camp in a Supercub.
